This work is another waypoint on the path started with Bereber Still Life and Spanish Breakfast.
Here, I wanted to represent the working atmosphere at a geographer’s, or a cartographer’s desk at the 18th or 20th centuries.
On one hand, I wanted to show antique objects, with the tone and aspects that were peculiar at that time. On the other hand, I didn’t want to yield to temptation and make the surfaces look far too old; the key idea here is that you should be transported into the moment, that you are there, taking in the image. |

Este trabajo se enclava en la trayectoria iniciada con el Bodegón Bereber y el Desayuno Español. Pero aquí deseaba plasmar la atmósfera de trabajo en el escritorio de un geógrafo o cartógrafo de los siglos XVIII ó XIX.
Por un lado quería mostrar objetos antiguos, con el tono y el aspecto propios de la época, pero por otro lado no quería caer en la tentación de envejecer excesivamente las superficies, pues se supone que estamos captando estas imágenes trasladándonos a ese momento.
